Dr Luanne Mason
Clinical Psychologist; HCPC
I am a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals with a wide range of psychological difficulties. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative, ensuring that clients feel safe and supported as they explore their challenges and work towards meaningful change.
Therapy is a personal journey, and I strive to create a non-judgemental space where individuals can reflect on their experiences and develop skills to enhance their well-being. My goal is to empower clients to gain insight, build resilience, and make choices that align with their values and aspirations.
Areas of Expertise
I have extensive experience working with individuals facing difficulties such as anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, stress, chronic health conditions, low self-esteem, and relationship issues. I also specialise in helping individuals navigate emotional regulation difficulties and life transitions, providing tailored support to foster self-awareness and psychological flexibility.
A key area of my work includes supporting neurodivergent individuals, particularly those with ADHD and autism. I provide comprehensive ADHD assessments for adults, as well as therapeutic interventions to help clients understand their unique strengths and challenges.
In addition, I have a strong background in working with parents and caregivers of children with additional needs. My experience includes providing psychological support, training, and supervision to professionals working with families facing complex challenges related to neurodiversity and developmental trauma.
Therapeutic Approaches
My approach to therapy is integrative, drawing from a range of evidence-based models to ensure that treatment is tailored to each individual’s needs. These include:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – Supporting individuals in developing psychological flexibility and values-based living.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – Identifying and addressing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours.
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) – Encouraging self-compassion and reducing self-criticism.
Schema Therapy – Exploring deep-rooted patterns and beliefs that influence emotional and relational well-being.
Psychodynamic Therapy – Understanding past experiences and how they shape present difficulties.
Systemic Therapy – Examining relational dynamics within families and support networks.
I believe in a client-centred approach, ensuring that therapy is guided by each individual's goals and personal journey. By integrating different therapeutic techniques, I support clients in making lasting changes that enhance their quality of life.
Professional Background & Qualifications
